I’ve been using Deep Trekker now for over 15 years. I really enjoy how easy the ROV is to use, we use it basically daily for all of our commercial operations. We bring the ROV out with us and it’s always the first diver in the water. It shows us everything that we need to know before we put a diver in the water and it saves us time, and that ultimately saves clients money and keeps us working.

Traditionally, we’ve had to use other technologies: side-scan sonar, multibeam echosounder, drop cameras, and marine magnetometers to really identify objects on the bottom and conduct inspections. Short of using divers, which induces a certain amount of logistical complexity, is time consuming, human-resource consuming, and frankly fairly risky, we find the use of an ROV much, much more effective, efficient, and safer to accomplish those underwater inspections.
