Deep Trekker is excited to announce the appointment of José Albornoz Farias as the Regional Commercial Manager for the company’s office in Chile.
This strategic addition to the team marks a significant step in Deep Trekker’s commitment to expanding its presence in Latin America, where demand for advanced underwater robotics solutions continues to grow.
With a strong background in business development, leadership, and sales, José will lead the company’s operations across Chile and the broader region, ensuring that customers receive the personalized support and service they need to meet their operational objectives.
José brings over 18 years of professional experience across several key industries, including mining, energy, and aquaculture - sectors that are increasingly adopting remote-operated technologies like those offered by Deep Trekker. He holds an MBA from Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, a Master’s in Economics from Universidad de Chile, and has held senior leadership roles in prominent companies such as Hilti, Sandvik, and Skava.
During his tenure at these companies, José developed a keen understanding of the unique business and technical challenges that companies in the Latin American market face. His experience spans business unit management, profit and loss oversight, sales leadership, and long-term strategic planning. This breadth of expertise positions him perfectly to lead Deep Trekker’s initiatives in the region, including driving business growth, managing customer relationships, and strengthening the company’s position as a key player in underwater inspection technologies.
José's new position comes at an opportune time, given the rapid adoption of ROVs in industries like mining and aquaculture, which require advanced solutions for tasks such as asset inspection, environmental monitoring, and maintenance. His familiarity with these industries will be instrumental in aligning Deep Trekker’s product offerings with the specific needs of clients in Chile and South America.
One of José’s primary objectives is to improve Deep Trekker’s ability to provide hands-on, localized support to customers throughout Chile and Latin America. This will involve more than just selling advanced ROV technology; it’s about honoring the principals that Deep Trekker was founded on - establishing long-term relationships with customers by offering them tailored solutions and specialized training that meet their operational requirements.
Under José’s leadership, Deep Trekker’s Chile office will serve as a key hub for customer support, where engineers and technicians can access product demonstrations, personalized training programs, and after-sales service. With industries such as mining and aquaculture facing increasingly complex operational environments, the need for reliable and efficient underwater inspection solutions is more pressing than ever. José is well-equipped to guide customers through the selection and implementation of ROVs that best suit their needs, ensuring they maximize the operational and economic benefits of these technologies.
José will also oversee the technical support team in Chile, ensuring rapid response times for service requests and maintenance - a critical factor for industries that operate under tight production schedules - while aligning with Deep Trekker's commitment to delivering world-class customer support.
In his role, José will also lead efforts to drive business growth through a combination of sales initiatives and targeted business development activities. His experience negotiating service contracts and his ability to navigate complex sales environments will be essential in expanding Deep Trekker’s market share in the region.
José’s focus on business development will also include identifying new opportunities in emerging markets within Latin America, such as expanding into regions with growing energy and aquaculture industries. His role will involve close collaboration with Deep Trekker’s global leadership team to align regional objectives with the company’s broader vision of global expansion.
José will help customers understand the long-term value that Deep Trekker’s ROVs bring to their operations, particularly in cost savings, operational efficiency, and safety improvements. By offering customized solutions and dedicated support, he will position Deep Trekker as a trusted partner to businesses throughout the region.
José Albornoz Farias stepping into this role comes at an important time for industries across Latin America. As companies in mining, aquaculture, and energy increasingly turn to remote and autonomous technology to solve complex underwater challenges, the need for high-quality ROV solutions continues to rise. Deep Trekker’s products, known for their reliability and ease of use, are uniquely suited to meet these demands. José’s leadership will ensure that these industries have access to the right tools to perform critical underwater inspections, repairs, and maintenance in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
With his seasoned knowledge of the Latin American market and his extensive experience in leading commercial operations, José will play a key role in expanding Deep Trekker’s presence and ensuring the company is well-positioned to meet the specific needs of customers across the region.
This new chapter in Deep Trekker’s Latin American operations under José’s leadership represents a significant milestone in our commitment to serving the region. We look forward to the continued growth and success of Deep Trekker under his direction. We are confident that his expertise will help drive success for both our company and our customers.
