Expeditionary REVOLUTION ROV
The high quality lens upgrade and proprietary image processing algorithms through Deep Trekker’s Bridge software provide users with an optimal underwater viewing experience including a wider field of view, enhanced clarity and auto colour correction.
The defining feature is the 260-degree revolving head at the front of the vehicle. In the center of this head is the ultra high definition camera that you see the view from on your controller, as well as powerful LED floodlights and a laser scaler.
Adjust the angle of your camera, lights, laser scaler, imaging sonar and grabber to ensure optimal position for your application, such as sweeping an area with the imaging sonar in a search mission or looking above at the hull of a ship or to locate targets on the seafloor.
The ROV is propelled by six powerful thrusters, two of which are vertically mounted for precise vertical movements and depth holding, four of the thrusters are mounted horizontally and in a vectored configuration to allow for lateral movements. This configuration of thrusters is great for holding in heavier currents and for stable control when making fine adjustments while performing an inspection or survey.
The REVOLUTION is powered by two Lithium Ion battery tubes on the bottom of the ROV. These battery tubes or skis can be interchanged very quickly with the included spare set to keep your operations up and running. At the front of the skis are additional LED floodlights for even better illumination for your video.
Our ROVs are controlled by our BRIDGE software, which enables you to see and record data from many different sensors all from a handheld controller. When you add positional sensors such as the USBL, you can see your position on screen via a Google map and record your position as it changes over time along with the video and your other sensor data. Imaging sonars are also integrated directly on the handheld, allowing you to see and record sonar data side by side with your position and video footage.
The carbon fibre shell, anodized aluminum and stainless steel body and sapphire lens cover make the ROV a very rugged and durable machine.
The thrusters utilize an innovative design called magnetic coupling, the propeller assembly and drive motor are connected together using magnets, meaning that the thrusters are very durable, they do not wear down over time and they do not require ongoing maintenance as other thrusters often do require oiling, greasing or regular replacement.
Above the camera head is an optional mount for a multibeam imaging sonar. Use the sonar to get a visual through murky water or over longer distances, monitor your sonar footage live and record it alongside your video all on your handheld controller, no extra laptops or monitors required.
Below the camera is a two function grabber, with interchangeable claws for sampling, measuring, recoveries or tool manipulation.

The tether has a 150 kg (300lbs) break strength, so there is no problem lifting the ROV by the tether. You can lower and raise the ROV by the tether and retrieve objects with the grabber arm by pulling up on the tether.
The ROV’s handheld controller comes equipped with a 7” LCD display. The high definition and bright display offers a portable yet high quality viewing experience for one operator. There are times however, when you may want a larger monitor to display video to a group of viewers. The handheld controller comes equipped with an HDMI out port, along with Ethernet, SD and USB ports. This allows you the flexibility of connecting to other devices. Alternatively, the ROV records video and photos to an SD card. The SD card can be easily removed and then connected to other devices for viewing.
Yes, as long as the accessory is within 40 grams of neutral buoyancy it will not affect the ability of the ROV to maneuver throughout the waters.
