The Side scan sonar mounts to the sides of the REVOLUTION ROV and sends its data up through the tether to a splitter at the tether reel. Your laptop connects to this splitter and runs the sonar's software, allowing you to monitor live and record your findings.
This is the best tool for performing large area searches or surveys, particularly when looking at the sea floor or lake bed. This is a way to perform bottom searches and surveys by driving the ROV or your boat in a straight line and the sonar creates a 2D image of the bottom as you drive.
